Cell Meeting Philosophy 2

CELL MEETING PHILOSOPHY, Part II

The third area is having corporate prayer in the cell group. One time a month, each cell group meets together for corporate prayer and during this time, the cell lesson is not used. Rather, group members gather together for agreement to corporately pray over the church, cell ministry, themselves, families and their lighthouses (neighbors). Sometimes, one of the Prayer Cell groups may join a cell group and combine their forces during this one night of prayer. If no Prayer Cell joins with the Cell Group then either the Cell Group leader will be the leader of the prayer time or he or she may have someone in the group that really has a passion for prayer and wants to lead the group in prayer during that one time a month prayer. In either case, the format is fairly open. The church will provide monthly prayer points for all the groups to pray over, but they will also be praying over our country, President and his cabinet, church and ministry and people’s individual needs. This time can be a time of mixing praise and worship in with the prayer, or it can simply be all prayer.

The fourth area of the church’s philosophy for cell groups is achieving group multiplication. Every group needs to prepare its members to multiply. The church believes that every member of ORCC is called to be a minister in his or her areas of influence. Therefore, one way to facilitate this is that each person be equipped to lead a small group or minister in leadership capacities in other areas of the church where they can utilize their gifts as well as the gifts of others. If they choose to serve in the cell ministry it provides an atmosphere where people can grow in the Word, prayer and fellowship with other believers. Each cell leader is encouraged to take the role of a mentor and raise up another leader. This new leader can either take over the group that the cell leader is currently leading or multiply out of their group to form a new group. In either case, the new cell leader would be using their own unique gifts and talents to assist the church in fulfilling its stated mission of reaching the lost, making disciples and covering the earth with the Word.
